Pinching the strings - what is it important

Did not it odd how some guitarists playing up and completely separated by pinching the strings? A far too common stereotype is that classical musicians of the band will only use your fingers to play, while a rocker, pop-rocker, etc.. will bet more on the wedge. Which side are you?

The bad news is that it's not OK to be too adept a single technique, especially today, when peaked versatile guitar and get a unique sound, the staff must have a rich stock of feeling and knowledge. Hoping to get out a circle to a single bit of the strings, I've prepared a list of reasons why you should master and pinching:

1. Dynamics

Even if you are part of a metal band and mix your guitar should dominate from start to finish, I can not say there will be passages where you'll need a change in dynamics. A breakdown simply will not provide the warmth and character and subtle shift that you can print your fingers. You can play as loud, slow crescendos or you want as long as you own 100% control.

2. Hybrid Technique

The so-called hybrid picking is a technique that we have come to love lately, freedom of expression because they offer: while the thumb and forefinger to work with the other three are free for pinching the string. A good idea and often used in jazz is to keep your own bass line using your fingers up, while the free ones will support harmony (Tommy Emmanuel is a master of this technique). Of course the technique will not be easy at first, but I promise that if you persevere and improve coordination, the results will sound very good.

3. Alternating string / String Skipping

Suppose you want to experiment with playing some notes that do not have them on adjacent strings. When you play up, you could try to ETUF strings that do not need but might not sound good - it depends on what kind of music played. If you want to get the notes easily and precisely where you need it, playing with your fingers is a much better option.

4. Mixes

Do not know how you got into fingerstyle area so far, but I assure you deserve! Leave aside the prejudices that pinching the string was invented solely for the classical guitar and folk, keep your mind open to new possibilities and remember that most are a combination of contemporary genres and influences successful experiments. To find your perfect place at the intersection of two or more styles of expression is a plus.

5. What did you do it to you?

One reason is simple, funny, but could not be true! Suppose you're at a party with friends in the mountains, you want to impress a girl / guy or even new to try a guitar shop.
You realize it's a shame to miss an opportunity just because you're used to / a to play without key! Come on, put it in your pocket for an hour or two, experiment and you will see that you will not miss him so much.
 Success!
